FORT WORTH – Temperatures reach 109 degrees on Sunday in Fort Worth, and the action was just as heated on the field Sunday night as #6 Florida State hands #9 TCU their first loss of the season.
Many times you can look at a 2-0 defeat and think that one team dominated the other, this is not one of those cases. TCU represented themselves well going toe-to-toe with one of the blue bloods of women’s college soccer.
“We had a worthy opponent, we just didn’t see the right side of the scoreboard tonight,” coach Eric Bell said. “I was really proud of the way that we battled, fought and competed. Obviously, we have some things to clean up from the soccer perspective, but credit to them for putting two goals by us. Congratulations to Florida State. We’ve got some work to do, but it’s early in the season.”
