Nine Track & Field athletes compete at the NCAA Championships in Eugene

The 2024 outdoor track and field championships begin today with the men’s Day 1 events at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. Action kicks off with the Decathlon events at 2:30pm.  TCU men’s decathlon entry, Joel McFarlane got himself to the championships with a school record, 7613 points last week in Fayetteville at the NCAA West Regionals.  Kashie Crockett will represent TCU on the men’s side, as well, in the 200M.

On the womens side, Gracie Morris, Iyana Gray, Teanna Harlin, Mikayla Hayes, Dreunna Washington, Irene Jebkembio, and Maria Bienvenu are competing in Eugene.  The women are ranked #24 overall by the USTFCCCA.

Gray qualified in 3 events, the 100M, 200M, and the 4x100M relay, while teammate Harlin qualified for 2, the 200M and the 4x100M relay.

The squad of Gray, Harlin, Hayes, and Washington will be in the 4x100M relay. The 4×100 team is the first event for the women’s team, beginning at 7:32pm on Thursday.

Rounding out the women’s team, Jebkembio and Bienvenu have qualified in javelin.
