FORT WORTH –After a long three game road trip, that the players dubbed “The Utah Plague”, TCU returned home Saturday afternoon to face Cincinnati. The Frogs exploded offensively en route to a 3-1 over the Bearcats.
TCU’s three-headed dragon led the charge.
Becca Kelley recorded 19 kills on 30 swings, a career high for the redshirt freshman.
Jalyn Gibson recorded 20 kills on 34 swings, and added eight digs as well.
Melanie Parra did Melanie Parra things Saturday afternoon. Another casual 21 kill performance from TCU’s superstar. Parra also had four service aces as well.
With the 21 kills, Parra surpassed the 1000 career kill mark. A milestone mark for any outside hitter. What makes this milestone particularly special, is that Parra has basically achieved this in a little over two seasons. Remarkable achievement for Parra.
For the match TCU recorded a kill on 51 percent of their total swings, a season high for the Frogs.
TCU will enjoy a couple of days off before heading to Waco on Friday October 25th.
