Baseball completes sweep over a solid DBU team; “Good is good enough”

TCU Baseball with a quality win tonight at home to sweep the 2 game series against DBU.  First game was back on March 12th, 9-6 on the road and tonight 5-2 over the Patriots improving to 24-15 on the season.

The Frogs had a no-hitter through 5 innings with 3 pitchers on the mound during that stretch.  Caedmon Parker started the game followed by Storm Hierholzer each throwing 2 innings of no-hit baseball.  Zach Morris and Hunter Hodges followed in the next 3 innings giving up a run a piece on only 3 hits.  Ben Abeldt and Louis Rodriguez finished the game in the 8th and 9th respectively.

All the runs TCU needed were scored in the first 2 innings.  Kurtis Byrne singled scoring Karson Bowen in the first inning and went 2-3 on the evening with 2 RBIs.  In the second inning, Peyton Chatagnier and Ryder Robinson got on base with Sam Myers tripling to right center scoring them both going 1-3 with 2 RBIs as well.

Adding 2 more runs in the 5th and 6th innings, the Frogs secured a much needed win going into the Kansas State series starting on Friday at Lupton.

It’s a big game, as they all are.  Head coach, Kirk Saarloos said, “There good is good enough.”  Saarloos defines competitive greatness after the game.
