The Frogs were without one of their “brothers” and one of the most positive influences on the team, Payton Tolle.  Tolle’s mother past away this week after a bout with cancer.  Anthony Silva, Kole Klecker, and head coach, Kirk Saarloos spoke to his absence and that his mother, Jina, was an inspiration to the team.

Improving to 30-16 on the season with an 8-2 win over New Mexico State, Saarloos was happy about using only 3 pitchers including Kole Klecker, Hunter Hodges, and Chase Hoover giving solid innings.

The Frogs have only given up 16 earned runs in the last 80 plus innings.  Pitching and defense, supplemented with good offense is the name of the game.

Klecker threw 5 solid innings striking out 7 and giving up only 2 runs.  He talks about the grind this year, turning negatives into positives, and creating new pitches.

Long week to say the least for Silva with finals but caps it off with a blast straight over center field, 425 feet to drive in 2 runs, total of 3 on the night.  How his team wins games is what he discussed after the game.

FrogballUSA continues tonight at 4pm with Zach Cawyer on the mound as a starter for the first time this season followed up by a Mother’s Day and Kid’s Day game on Sunday at 1pm.
