Head coach, Jason Williams gets win number 11 on the season on National Coaches Day and are off to the best start to a season since 2013. The Frogs beat Houston on the road in 5 sets, then #14 Baylor on national TV on Sunday. That is 4 wins in a row against his former program.
Williams and company will be on the road the next couple weeks for a 3 match road swing with Utah tonight, BYU on Saturday, and then in Lubbock next week to take on Texas Tech.
The Frogs are led by 4-time Big12 Offensive Player of the Week, Melanie Parra as well as Jalyn Gibson, Lily Nicholson, Becca Kelley, and Cecily Bramschreiber.
Nicholson picked up 45 assists against Baylor and sits in the Top 10 in the nation in assists per set at 10.87. Gibson and Kelley both had 14 kills against the Bears and Bramschreiber had a total of 23 digs in the last 2 matches and closed out the last 8 points against Houston on her serve and just about did it again on Sunday. Redshirt, sophomore Lex Roberson is coming into her own as well with 7 kills against Baylor.
The team is sitting at #17 in the national rankings but more impressive, at #9 in the RPI.
