You know the name King McClure.

Maybe you remember him as the big, physical guard in the highlighter yellows who tormented the TCU men’s basketball team as the guy who seemed to always make a big shot or get the big steal or not get the whistle when he made an aggressive play.

Or maybe he’s the guy you hear when you tune into a TCU game, or any number of Big 12 Conference games, from home, calling the game courtside and bringing the unique perspective that comes from having competed against and alongside many of the guys on the court.

This summer, McClure will be familiar to Frogs fans in a third way, as a member of the Fort Worth Funk, a The Basketball Tournament (TBT) team composed of TCU basketball alums, among other former collegiate athletes. That’s right, this one-time rival will now be teaming up with the players he used to D up, hoping to bring home a championship — and a bag — to Fort Worth.
