FORT WORTH — The theme for Day 3 of TCU fall camp was physicality and tempo.

The team donned “shells,” or “uppers,” which consist of shoulder pads, helmets and shorts with the girdles underneath that included thigh pads. Essentially, the players were knee-pads away from full pads.

All of this amounted to the first hard-hitting practice, all while attempting to keep players off the ground during drills (individual or otherwise).

Practice opened with an 11-on-11 tempo period, with offense and defense competing against one another going at warp speed — or at least as fast as they possibly can at this time of year.
