FORT WORTH – You could just see the relief and the tension melt after TCU scored in the 87th minute Sunday night. AJ Hennessey worked past an Aggie defender on the boundary and then centered it for Seven Castain whose shot dribbled into the back of the net propelling the Frogs a 1-0 win.

“I remember it hitting my foot [the ball] and I was like I don’t know if this going to go in,” Castain said. “I saw it go in and I was so happy, not only for me but for my teammates. Finally getting a ball to crossover the goal line was huge.”

That broke a streak of 425 minutes of scoreless soccer. The longest scoring drought in the Eric Bell era at TCU. It was a streak that spanned from the first game of season til the end of the 5th game of the season.

Most scoring droughts like that would sink teams, not TCU. After five games they sit 2-2-1, thanks to the play of their goalkeeper Lauren Kellett.
