FORT WORTH – Melanie. Parra.
A name that was etched into the TCU record books Friday night.
TCU Volleyball defeated Florida State 3-1 behind Parra’s record breaking performance.
Parra had 34 kills in the four set defeat of Florida State, breaking the school record for most kills in a four set match. The old mark was 33 which was done twice in 1996 by Jill Pape and in 1998 by Marci King. The 34 kills also places Parra second in the record books for most kills in a match.
It was a breath taking performance that left TCU fans awe inspired by what they were watching. Parra completely dominated the fourth set tallying 13 of her 34 kills.
The 34 kills are the most by a Division I player this season in a four set match.
“I was very excited and happy to obtain this achievement,” Parra said. “To do it in front of the home crowd was very special to me. It was an important day and we enjoyed it to the fullest.”
