New Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark opened Big 12 media days with a strong statement about how he wants the conference to look (Big 12 Conference).

ARLINGTON —  Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark doesn’t technically take up his new post until Aug. 1, but he kicked off Big 12 football media days with an opening statement that explicitly positioned the Big 12 as the aggressor when it comes to realignment.

He also made it clear what his top priority is: negotiating the best multimedia rights deal he can for the conference, while growing the conference into a national brand.
