The Frogs, Longhorns match-up never disappoints.  After losing to #1 Ohio State at Indoor Nationals last time out, Saturday’s match had the feel of a national championship showdown.

A rollercoaster match of sorts saw Luis Maxted come back from 6-1 down in first set to win 1-6, 6-3, 6-2.  At that moment the match was tied at 3 and Jake Fearnley had split sets against Eliot Spizzirri, who he had never beaten.  That all changed in what Fearnley mentioned was the craziest match he had ever been apart of.  Breaking Spizzirri at 4-4 gave Fearnley a chance to serve for the match and clinch the match for the Frogs 4-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-4.

Reaction from head coach, David Roditi as well as Fearnley and Maxted said it all.  This match had everything.

Doubles point secured…

Sebastian Gorzny/Pedro Vivas 6-1

Lui Maxted/Duncan Chan 7-5

Jack Pennington/Jake Fearnley 3-6

Singles Points secured…
