FORT WORTH – One of the best phrases in baseball you can hear is ‘opening day’. Opening day brings joy and excitement. The start of the season also brings expectations, and expectations are lofty this year in Fort Worth for the Frogs.

Coming off their first College World Series appearance since 2017 that saw TCU make the Final Four last year, the Frogs enter this season as the No. 5 team in the country according to D1baseball.

The Frogs did not disappoint in their first game of the season.

TCU completed a ferocious comeback walking off Florida Gulf Coast 10-9.

The Frogs were down 9-3 entering the seventh inning and plated two in the seventh, four in the eighth, and one in ninth.

Lupton magic.

“The big thing was we just kept playing,” coach Kirk Saarloos said. “They ran into a couple of balls and had some damage early. The big thing was I thought our dugout was phenomenal the whole game, there was no panic in it.”

Seasons may change, but the grit and the will power to never give up remain the same. That is TCU Baseball in a nutshell.
