Among the biggest topics surrounding TCU’s media day appearance last week was whether Sonny Dykes had picked a starter ahead of fall camp opening Aug. 2.

“The coaches are usually the last ones to know,” Dykes joked from the podium Thursday. “The players start to know. The equipment managers start to know. The trainers start to know. You make that decision, then everybody goes, ‘Well, you could have done this a week ago.’ ”

If Dykes does know who will take the first snap when the Horned Frogs open their 2022 season on a Friday night at Colorado, he’s not saying.

Well, not exactly.
