FORT WORTH — The best time of the year to play golf is now, and one of the best tournaments to play is the TCU Coaches Golf Classic.
The 25th annual event is scheduled for April 25, that’s a Monday, at Texas Star Golf Course in Euless and is presented by Sodexo.
Spots are still available in the 8 a.m. round. The afternoon event is sold out.

Some 240 players are expected to play. Several coaches from various Horned Frogs teams are scheduled to be in the tournament field, including men’s basketball coach Jamie Dixon, women’s soccer coach Eric Bell and new volleyball coach Jason Williams. Tennis coach David Roditi is hoping to play.
Members of the football coaching staff are also expected to participate.
“Just about every sport will be represented,” said John Denton, the associate athletic director for alumni relations. “We’ve got a bunch of coaches who love golf.”
The goal of the tournament is to fund athletic scholarships for TCU student-athletes. In its history, the tournament has generated more than $5 million in funds.
Prizes for the top teams come directly from Augusta National Golf Club, home of the Masters.
