TCU Baseball drops first game of series to Texas Tech

TCU Baseball drops the opening game of the series against Texas Tech at Lupton, 7-1.  Payton Tolle gets the start pitching 5 innings giving up 3 runs on 7 hits but strikes out 11.  “They punched out 6 and won 7-1; we punched out 17 and lost 7-1,” commented head coach Kirk Saarloos.  Saarloos continued, “ultimately we have to figure out how to play better baseball, because we’re not doing it.”

The Red Raiders outhit the Frogs 13-5.  The lone run for the Frogs came from Karson Bowen who hit his 4th homer of the year.

TCU drops to 20-12 overall and 5-11 in Big12 play.  Game 2 is tomorrow at 3pm at Lupton
