FORT WORTH – There was purple for as far as the eye could see at Lupton, as TCU Baseball wins game one of the Super Regionals 4-1 over Indiana State.

The announced attendance for the game 8,812 shattering the previous record of 7,383 that was set in the 2015 Super Regionals.

“This is what makes college baseball fun,” coach Kirk Saarloos said. “This is the atmosphere that you want to be apart of. I kind of took it in and looked around before first pitch and said, “this is why we do this.””

The crowd was incredible, thousands of fans lined up before the game to claim their stake of the berm out in right field. Indiana State coach Mitch Hannahs was left impressed.

“I thought it was awesome, great atmosphere,” Hannahs said. “I didn’t realize how many people were here until I walked out to right at the end of the game. It was a neat setting.”
