Wednesday marked the beginning of the early signing period, and TCU kicked off the three-day stretch by signing the majority of its 2023 recruiting class. The class is the highest-rated class in TCU recruiting history, checking in at No. 18 in the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, and coach Sonny Dykes acknowledged that this is the new expectation.
“This is they type of class we expect to sign every year,” Dykes said. “Our expectations are to sign a top-15, top-10 recruiting class as we continue to have success in the program and build relationships with the ’24 and ’25 recruits and high school coaches, and everything else that’s a big part of the recruiting process.”
Of course, that version of class rankings only includes high school recruits. TCU’s class moves to No. 19 when the Frogs’ four transfer additions are also calculated into the class, which would still be the highest-rated class in TCU history.
Transfer students didn’t sign Wednesday, however, as the Frogs are still working through the different paperwork that comes with a transfer vs. a high school recruit. All four current transfers are expected to be on campus in January.
As for the high school recruits, TCU set a program record by signing nine four-star recruits. Coach Sonny Dykes met with the media Wednesday to discuss the signees.
