TCU landed its second commitment for the 2023 class Friday, when four-star small forward Jace Posey pledged to the Horned Frogs.

Posey, rated as the No. 7 player in  Texas and the No. 77 player in the country, picked the Frogs over George Mason. Posey also held offers from Memphis, Miami, Texas A&M, Arizona State and Vanderbilt.

Posey joins power forward Isaiah Manning in TCU’s 2023 class.

The Frogs were one of the earliest offers for Posey, and the TCU coaching staff has maintained constant communication with the Houston native. That attention has made the Frogs stand out to Posey, as he told Frogs Today during his official visit in early August.

“I feel like out of all the coaches I talk to, TCU gives me the most enthusiastic answers and responses,” Posey said. “They keep in contact the most, and I appreciate that.”

Posey visited the Frogs prior to heading to George Mason for a visit. After visiting TCU and George Mason, Posey decided to cancel visits to Vanderbilt and Arizona State.

Posey is the son of James Posey, the former Xavier star and 12-year NBA veteran. He is currently an assistant coach for the Washington Wizards.

The Frogs have a chance to add even more to their 2023 class soon, too. Five-star center Dennis Evans is making his official visit to TCU this weekend, and the Frogs are one of the front-runners for his services, along with Minnesota and Kansas.
