FORT WORTH – It was never a doubt Wednesday night for TCU Volleyball.
Actually, it was very much a doubt as TCU fell behind 2-0 to Houston before storming back to take the match 3-2 completing the reverse sweep.
The match played out eerily similar to the match when the two first met this season in Houston. A match that TCU won in five sets after leading that match 2-0.
It was looking like the match would play out the same way when in the fifth set Houston led 12-7. TCU would rattle off the next six points surging ahead 13-12. The two would trade blows requiring extra points for the third time in the match.
Kills from Jalyn Gibson and Alexis Roberson brought home the match for TCU.
A much needed win for the Frogs after a rough week the week before in Kansas.
TCU also kept alive their chances to host in the upcoming NCAA Tournament.
Propelling the Frogs Wednesday night was their serve. TCU recorded 11 aces in the match.
Melanie Parra led the Frogs with seven aces. The seven aces tied a season high for Parra, also tied her once again for second all-time in TCU Volleyball for aces in a match.
Parra also led the way for TCU kills registering 24 in the win.
Freshman Evan Hendrix had a huge match for TCU recording 15 kills and 21 digs in the five set win.
Up next for TCU is their final regular season home match. The Frogs will take on Texas Tech Friday night. In their first meeting, TCU swept the Red Raiders in Lubbock.
