The return of Sedona Prince after suffering a shattered finger against Baylor on January 3rd launches women’s hoops into their 3rd straight win.  With 2 wins on the road and a 10 point win over Houston (13-14, 4-11) tonight, 59-49, the Frogs (18-9, 5-11) are rolling with confidence.

Prince picked up where she left off with 15 points and 6 rebounds tonight.

The Frogs shot 40% from the field but only allowed 27% shooting from the Cougars.  Agnes Emma-Nnopu was the second leading scorer tonight recording a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Houston struggled to created any type of rhythm losing the battle on the boards as well 49-26 and a +23 in favor of TCU.  Although TCU were outscored in the second half, the 2nd quarter they outscored Houston 21-10 with a 33-17 lead at the half. Between the 1st and 2nd quarter the Frogs went on a 19-0 run and a 22-7 advantage.

“This group, we survived all those injuries and I told them, now it’s time to thrive,” commented head coach, Mark Campbell.  Campbell talking about maintaining that edge at home and tonight was as physical a game as you will see.

The Frogs lead for a total of 31 minutes.

Sydney Harris continues her offensive dominance with 13 points and 7 boards.  Madison Connor knocked down late 3s going 3 for 9 from deep for 11 on the night.  Finally, Una Jovanovic played the entire 40 minutes and ran the show as she continues to grow into an elite guard.

There are 2 games left before the Big12 conference tournament and the only message is “sprint through the finish line,” mentioned Campbell.  This has been 8 months of grinding so walking across the finish line is not an option.

Texas Tech comes to Fort Worth on Wednesday and it is senior night.  Tip-off is set for 6:30pm.
